CozMall
I'm looking for a City Centre restaurant for a nice meal on Saturday night when I've got people coming to stay for the weekend, I don't really want an Indian but I'm open to most other cuisines. Has anyone got any suggestions for something not too expensive and fancy but that serves decent food? Thanks
gluedtopc
We've had some good times at Cubana's Tapas bar on Trippet Lane. There are a few decent pubs nearby. It has a website if you google it. Hope this helps.

taxman
Try The Wig and Pen behind the Cathedral. Top quality contemporary English food at reasonable prices. Going there Thursday, I'll report back. I've never been disappointed with Ego's at The Winter Gardens. OK it's a chain but the food is always good and I can never fault the service. ---------- Post added 22-08-2013 at 19:48 ---------- Try The Wig and Pen behind the Cathedral. Top quality contemporary English food at reasonable prices. Went tonight and had a sharing platter and a couple of desserts. The food was lovely. My partner complained about the size of the platter but tbf it is meant as a starter for two, and after that all we wanted was the dessert selection. I had a wonderful cheese and biscuits, she had something sweet and unctuous. So very good, but it's just not my type of place. I never liked The Milestone because it was a combination of pub and restaurant and I just don't like the concept. I prefer one or the other.
