Hedgehunter
The bad news is - it's £2.50 a pint at Sports Cafe, but the good news is - you can still wear your rugby shirt without being asked to leave. Ah well, least I can wear my shirt, but after Friday night I don't know if I want to
firecracker
Now for my say. Sheffield clearly doesn't have the quality or quantity of bars that Leeds has. Could we imagine the population of Leeds being hostile to a branch of the Zinc Bar and Grill opening there, just because Manchester and London have outlets of these bars? Likewise the Irish theme bar Waxy O'Connors (I've been into the Manchester outlets of both - Zinc at the Triangle and Waxys at the Printworks). I hate to say it, but Barnsley has bars every bit as good as what Sheffield does. The likes of Chicago Rock Cafe, Blah Bar and Assembly certainly wouldn't look out of place in Sheffield, and would be better than most in Sheffield. Cities are supposed to have some upmarket bars, and on this score, Sheffield truly feels like a backward-looking town rather than a forward-looking city.
