Cleveland Street and Philadelphia history

Recommended Posts

Please, does anyone have any knowledge of Cleveland Street and Philadelphia around 1800? I am in search of some family history, William Stacey was born in Philadelphia 1816, he called his home in Norwich 'Cleveland' so I suspect some sort of family connection with Cleveland Street but can't imagine that area in 1800.

I think his parents were William Stacey and Elizabeth Chilvers married 11.5.1802 Norwich. William Stacey was a Methodist - were his parents associated with early Methodism in Philadelphia?

I'd love to potter about the archives in Sheffield but live 'downunder'. Online researching is proving frustrating because 'Cleveland' and 'Philadelphia' in the U.S. keep getting in the way.

Hoping to meet a local history enthusiast on this forum!
