New motorway service station

The days of motorway services are probably numbered anyway. Once we have fully automatic cars we'll be able to turn the front seats around and have a picnic meal in the car, motorway services stops will mainly be about using the toilet. We won't even need a coffee to keep us awake.

Yes they are perfect - not. Check the news of the Uber ones in the states that are all off the road after an accident.

Someone needs to go to the loo or want a sarnie, so what.

Some of these old forest around today are rather precious. When we wee our pants we can wash them, cut these forests and they are gone.

Motorway service stops will also become about electric vehicle fast charging, with service station operators seeing it as a great way to get people to stick around for half an hour while they get an 80% charge (e.g. Ecotricity's or Tesla's existing fast chargers).

The Applegreen proposal on some scrub land at J33 is right next door to a big electricity substation.....

The site up the road where they want to chop down ancient woodland is not.
