Killing swans is treason, and treason is punishable by death.

 

You're both on wrong counts, latter laws take precedence over former laws so killing a swan isn't treason, and nobody can be sentenced to death for no reason ever in England, so wrong there as well.

The death penalty was removed from UK law (NB: not just England's) purely because the UK was bullied into it by demands from the EU, ECHR, or UN- I can't recall which it was, but either way the demands of the bully ought to have been refused on principle.
