ha ha

can anyone reccommend a good skip hire place please. Preferably one for a small skip that can be dropped off & picked up the same day.

Also, is there any rules on what is allowed in a skip?

I'm sure to get some dodgy replies to that, but hey ho

M & M Skip Hire, Baker Street, Attercliffe

Tel 0114 2611556

Used the loads of times whilst carrying out house refurbs, small to large skips, reasonable prices and reliable.

Hey can I have free skip next time for this plug, if M & M are reading this :D

I tried to get a skip just for one day, but no one seems to do it.

I did get a nice small 4 tonne skip from White Skip Hire, they were a little later then they said delivering it, but other then that i can’t fault them. Excellent service and a very good price.

About £40 for a week i think. I thought they did have a website but i can’t find. The number is 2338914

Alex,

I'm not saying this to start an argument but it's highly irresponsible of you to have disposed of asbestos like that.

Not only are there laws governing the disposal of such a substance, and what you did was probably illegal, but it is extremely thoughtless and with no regard for the person emptying the skip.

Three years ago I watched my granddad die from mesothelioma ( a form of lung cancer) and emphysema, as a direct result of his years of hard work in a factory handling asbestos. He contracted these years before the dangers were fully known.

I realise what you did was most likely in all innocence, but to you and anyone else, there are proper and legal ways to dispose of such a dangerous material.

If you are getting rid of asbestos you need a specialist companies, other then that some skip firms hire more for getting rid of certain waste, garden waste is cheaper while masonry is more expensive, i guess because of weight and space.
