BabaAndrew
I would like to get in contact with Mr Leonard Womersley, of Chapeltown. I believe that Mr Womersley served with the King's Own Yorkshire Light Infantry (KOYLI) during the war. This is in connection with research that I am doing regarding my late-grandfather's Army service. Like my grandfather, Leonard Womersley volunteered for the Glider Pilot Regt in the summer of 1942, and, following a rigorous selection process progressed to initial flying training. At some point, I understand that Leonard Womersley transferred back to the KOYLI, with which he continued his service. Any assistance to get in contact with Mr Womersley would be greatly appreciated! gregnig
Used to work at the same company as a Leonard Womersley who lived on his own in the Ecclesfield (Chapeltown?) area. He died in the mid 1960's. Great difficulty in sorting out his affairs due to a lack of relatives. Could this be the same man I wonder?
