Micky ET
I live in a 2 bedroom end of terrace 1974 house with cavity wall insulation band b rated boiler with my wife and two children. We have two showers and one bath per day in the winter we have the heating on 3 times a day on a programable thermostat, quite good with turning lights off etc. I have just worked out our yearly dual fuel bill It comes in at £1672 So this mean that per day our gas and electric cost are £4.58 This just doesn't seem right to me quite interested to know what others pay Asked supplier about meters been faulty they said is rare and cost £90 to check but will refund if is reading wrong Thanks

My suppliers give me annual totals on all my bills. (as well as comparisons with similar billing periods last year) Do you pay bills based upon meter readings or by Direct Debit with a fixed monthly amount? Micky ET
Yes Because I am a gas engineer not a gas supplier unless your a mathematician gas and electric bills are really hard to work out. I also don't have specialist equipment for testing meter accuracy . of course I ve done all the checks several times, tried to make my home more efficient but to no avail. I am not psychic so do not know what other pay thats why I have asked to see if it to much or just me been tight. ---------- Post added 29-08-2013 at 22:40 ---------- Why do you have to "work it out"? The amount used in £.. on a daily basis just shocked me ! was interested in what others pay so I could compare to see if something with the meter was not wright or it was just me being tight ! just seems a lot for the size of our house ! we pay DD of £145 a month some of our friends in similar situation pay £100-130. just wanted a broader spectrum to compare ! cgksheff
...... we pay DD of £145 a month .......... That is not a bill based upon you actual usage. It is a bill based upon a figure that will exceed someones estimate of what you will use. Many companies will lure new customers with low monthly estimates that have to be reconciled with payments at the end of the year. Forget your monthly DD, what is your annual bill? Then compare that with actuals (not monthly DDs) from similar properties. The forecast on my current bills for leccy & gas add up to around £1,700 for the next year. fairyworld14
I am sorry but the stupid ad really got on my nerves. Why do you have to advertise in order to get your answer .
