Hillpig
In view of the decision of the British Parliament not to allow military action regarding Syria, thereby leaving the US to act alone have we ended the so called Special Relationship? If so is it about time?
ANGELFIRE1
In a nutshell, no. A democratic vote was taken, and its result was acted on. Unlike Townie Bliar who went on his own and waged an illegal war. Angel.

Hillpig
Should we be proud of our politicians in that they have denied assistance to the people of Syria? As Milliband lead the opposition to us acting should the Labour party feel guilty the next time we witness atrocities of the kind we have seen recently.? nightrider
Should we be proud of our politicians in that they have denied assistance to the people of Syria? its far from obvious a missile strike would help the syrian people, because the consequences are very ill defined. As Milliband lead the opposition to us acting should the Labour party feel guilty the next time we witness atrocities of the kind we have seen recently.? Milliband didn't lead the opposition to action. His amendment was that a decision on action should only be taken when there was "compelling" evidence of Assad's guilt re chemical weapons. Cameron decided not to back that amendment, for some bizarre reason, and ending up losing his own vote as well.

Happ Hazzard
We didn't go into Vietnam either, yet the special relationship survived that.

Cyclone
No such thing as the Special Relationship, certainly not the other side of the pond. Apart from the extensive cooperation between GCHQ and the NSA.
