poppet2
That's all very well, but for once MP's represented the voice of the people. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/10275565/Syria-crisis-Paddy-Ashdown-ashamed-of-Britain-over-Commons-vote.html

There's nothing they like better than a WAR. Personally I'm glad the majority of MP's voted against.
tinfoilhat
I normally like paddy pantsdown but he's wrong here. It's not 1939 and we aren't queing up to kick a nazi in the face. The world has changed. We've had two rather unpleasant experiences in the Middle East in the last decade and rather than locals lining up to throw flowers at us it's been snipers and ieds. Top it all off isnt this a former french colony/dependancy? And all this is going along the assumption the Russians won't get involved.
