What makes a world civilised?

Recommended Posts

From Wikipedia: “ There is a controversial tendency to use the term "civilized" in a less strict way, to mean approximately the same thing as "culture" and therefore, the term can more broadly refer to any important and clearly defined human society.[3] Still, even when used in this second sense, the word is often restricted to apply only to societies that have a certain set of characteristics, especially the founding of cities.”

I would say tolerance, which is sadly lacking in most people today.

Your tolerance of all things blue is a lesson to us all.

Just words. In reality everybody laughs at Flanders types.

I would be most grateful if you could find time from your busy schedule to explain what a "Flanders Type" is.

Thank you in anticipation (3rd request)

Isn't he meaning the Ned Flanders type, as seen in the Simpsons, who annoyingly pushes religion and sees everything unbiblical as evil.
