geared
Can you tow it to the yard or will it need picking up? Probably 130-140ish if you take it, a ton or less if it needs picking up.

geared
Your best bet is to stick it on eBay, no reserve with a £1 starting bid. Being an old VW it'll sell like hot-cakes, even tho it's not a Gti model, not complete and doesn't run someone will buy it for parts. I'd be very surprised if it went for under 200 quid. Scrap cars at the moment are fetching 80 notes down. Somebody will buy the complete car for 200 notes

vwkittie
Are the big bumpers in good condition? What colour? What alloys are on it? What are the panels like, the bootlid, is it a 3-door? You could be sat on a fair few quids worth of bits there you know, depending on the condition. Do not sell it to a scrappy!! If you're willing to break it yourself, you'll probably get the most money back. How about advertising it on some of the forums, such as golfgti.co.uk? I have a mk2 GTI myself and the thought of potentially wasting good parts in a crusher makes me very depressed.
