LeMaquis
If people had something about them they'd hardly be working in a shop It sounds like you've been reading the Daily Mail again.
Mecky
It sounds like you've been reading the Daily Mail again. Which is from a totally different thread. If you're going to try and troll at least do it right.
blake
There is one reason: A useless Leadership team at Labour you may be right, but I think that may very well, not be enough. They could just slip over the line regardless.
I1L2T3
Can you define basics? Clearly people need enough to feed themselves, sensibly, and that excludes fast food. They need enough to pay their essential bills, such as water, gas, electric, council tax, rent. One has to give up drinking and smoking. Entertainment? Give up any paid-for Sky channels. I'm not sure what assistance a home owner (on mortgage or otherwise) gets. I'm sure I've missed a few other items, hopefully not many. I'm talking about rent, food, taxes, clothing, utilities, travel. In many areas of the country if you take away state support then a lot of people would not be able to survive. And I'm talking about working people. If you don't believe it then have a think what would happen if HB, tax credits etc... stopped overnight. Those props are there for a reason. vinyl
Maybe so, but the current government is much worse They are the ones clearing up the mess and the £ trillion debt run up by Brown & Blair. Don't you remember GDP falling 7% in a matter of months. ---------- Post added 05-09-2013 at 08:48 ---------- Do you think it's none then, do you read what's happening in the media? Not in the media that you clearly read.

Why are you answering a question I put to someone else? And to answer you're question, so you don't think that DGP (which I never liked anyway) falling had anything to do with the global crash of 2008 then? I1L2T3
How is the current government "much worse"? Clearly incompetent in most respects. I think Labour would be as mad, and bad. The election result will be determined by which party scares voters the most.
