Resurfacing Updates

By ignoring actual evidence from reputable sources on many occasions. That's not knowing what you're talking about.

I stick by what I said, Former SCC worker who was terminated.

Does it really matter if he is ex council or not ? Planner1 sounds like current or ex too, it's nice to have insider bias.

Wait until the cash runs out . it will be back to bodging the roads with sub-standard repairs on the cheap ,and pot hole repairs with an inch of tarmac that crumbles and falls out within a couple of months .

You're not suggesting that private business is incompetent and inefficient? :o

I haven't bothered to look it up but unless Campo Lane is a private road then it'll be in one of the Amey zones although again I haven't checked when it is earmarked for work. My road is a patchwork of repairs and badly filled ttrenches so I can hardly wait for things to start being done in late October.

We live on street that is patched and pot holed, according the Streets Ahead website all the streets in the area are planned to be re-surfaced except for ours, which is no better or worse than the surrounding streets. There appears to be no logic unless major works are planned by a utility company, although the streets that cross through ours have been re surfaced including the crossing point!

To be quite honest Penistone999 displays the type of anger and vitriol you'd only find ....

.. In someone who is hiding his homosexuality by being homophobic

.. that got sacked for viewing porn on a work computer

.. that goes to football matches to spend the whole game shouting at the manager

.. that previously enjoyed the work of Jimmy Saville, Stuart Hall, Rolf Harris, Roscoe Arbuckle and DLT

.. etc..

I know most of the roads in my area are due to be worked on with the exception of the main road which is a bus route as well. This road is earmarked for almost twelve months later. have you rung them to ask why your road isn't being done or feel free to send me the street name via pm and I'll do some digging around for you. Not that I want to be the Amey rep on here but as they've got the conttract for street repairs for the next 25 years i do want them to do the best possible job

Hey, I live at bottom of Hackenthorpe and we have had all the Rainbow related roads done.

But the footpaths are ruining the clean image with soil and gravel poured all over the place and things half done.

Also, when is Birley Spa Lane and Birley Moor Road getting done as they are the main roads.

There's a map on line that will show you any of the roads in Sheffield with the provisional dates for when work will start on them. Pavements probably haven't been finished off as they haven't finished off the new light columns, that's a guess by the way if I really wanted to know I'd ring 2734567 and ask them.

Go to the council website, they're doing it in stages, one stage being sorting the curb stones etc before (possibly weeks later) actually resurfacing the pavements.

You could try contacting them on Twitter:

Forget the programme on their website, that's a complete farce. Thompson Hill in High Green was supposed to have been done in July, but it's still like driving on a rollercoaster.

We've been waiting about 3 months now for them to complete the wearing course on the footpaths, but the latest info we have is that it's likely to be October/November now because of an issue with the street lights. To be fair to Amey, at least they did send a letter to the residents informing them of this, although having nearly tripped over the raised ironworks a few times completion can't come quick enough for me.

Regards

Doom
