Mr Bloom
What about trying Cafe Rouge in the Peace Gardens? Lovely location, you could take a few personal snaps in the peace garden first, and if you get it sorted in time you can use Tesco vouchers for x4 their value if money is tight. For 6, maybe someone could pay for the meal in vouchers as a present? TIP - if you're doing this, phone the restaurant beforehand, so they have the chance to make it extra special for your wedding party.
andy_LT
You could nip to Leopold square something like Zizzi etc. Book in advance and they will decorate table for you (with balloons etc.).
Chez2
Our friends had been living together for quite a while and wanted to get married but didn't want a fuss. They decided just to get married at a registry office without telling all their family and friends. We were asked to be witnesses but then the groom wanted two friends their so he asked them too. The brides mum found out just before the wedding so left work to come to the registry office. We went for a drink in a local pub then off to a surprise reception. As a wedding present we booked and paid for a meal, wine and champage, flowers etc and split the bill with the other couple. It was a mid week wedding so we had a small dining room to ourselves at the hotel we chose for the reception.

Chez2
We live in Rotherham but our friends lived just up the road in Carlto, towards Worksop. There are some really nice resteraunts and hotels between Rotherham, Blyth, Tickhill towards Doncaster. Phone a few of them for prices for a lunchtime meal in a small dining room. The Venus as Dinnington is nice if you go for a meal there after the wedding. http://thevenusrestaurant.com/ If you want to spend a bit less or want it more relaxed ask the Baytree at Brecks to reserve half of their Bistro. Its down the side of the block of shops where the Beauty Spot beauticians is. http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Restaurant_Review-g190734-d3914263-Reviews-Bay_Tree_Cafe_Bistro-Rotherham_South_Yorkshire_England.html
