WeX
yeah yeah so you keep saying, but you don't provide evidence to support your claim. I did, two posts by you, here for everyone to see. One linking to a daily-mail article quoting the ONS on released figures while the other you call the ONS a tory quango. I suspect you're waiting on this thread being closed now though to try and forget all about it and start your hypocrisy all over again.
Vague_Boy
Confidence is a huge part of economics. Wile E. Coyote economics? Did we make the mistake of looking down in 2008? So do you don't make typos then? It's still a tory quango, despite what you say. | | V Party politics, yaaaaawwwn. Interesting you took that line though In case you hadnt realised the services sector is the largest chunk of the economy About 70% IIRC.
daneha
Just think how much better things would be if everyone paid their tax's. Labour's property firm paid no tax for eight years A property company run by the Labour Party has paid no tax in eight years, despite earning millions of pounds in rental revenues, the Daily Telegraph can reveal. Labour Party Properties Limited (LPPL), which owns a £6.3m portfolio of properties, has paid no corporation tax since 2003. In those eight years the company has received a total of £8.7m in rents but declared losses of £279,000.

Didn't some of you say dodging tax isn't against the law anyway?
Obelix
If they made no profits why would they be expected to pay corporation tax though?
daneha
If they made no profits why would they be expected to pay corporation tax though? The implication from the article is they they are using aggressive tax avoidance to post a loss each year.

daneha
Which is perfectly legal to do... It would appear that a former tax lawyer, has written to HMRC to ask whether it will open an investigation into Labour Party Properties Ltd, a property investment firm wholly owned by the party which operates a £6.3m rental portfolio. Experts said their costs appeared “very high” for a company of this size, which under normal circumstances should create a profit of 3 to 4 per cent a year. L00b
But it's nothing compared to the £16.4bn dodged by private enterprise. Didn't some of you say dodging tax isn't against the law anyway?Last I checked, Labour Party Properties Limited (LPPL) is a private (for-profit) enterprise. They're part of the (£16.4bn) problem. Didn't some of you say dodging tax isn't against the law anyway?Nope. 'Some of us' have (consistently) said that tax avoidance is legal, and that tax evasion is not. 'Dodging' is a meaningless term in context...though quite useful for your purpose, undoubtedly.
