Andrew Burgess-Tupling to parkrun statsgeek group

The Saturday of Easter weekend saw glorious weather, almost perfect running conditions and a host of records.

There were 53/53 parkruns in the Yorkshire and The Humber region (for the first time).
Of 52 runs completed both last week and this, 32 had higher attendances, 19 were lower and one (Normanby Hall (284)) was the same.
Total attendance was 15606 - the second highest ever - an increase of 1995 (14.7%) from the previous week.

There were six new record attendances: Bradford (619), Dalby Forest (399), Fountains Abbey (636), Rother Valley (440), Sewerby (460) and Skipton (277).
Rother Valley’s record has been broken twice on consecutive Saturdays.

New attendance records have been set at 34 venues this calendar year!

Catterick & Peter Pan both had attendances of 263, Bramley & Myrtle had 179 and Middleton Woods & Selby had 174.

Sheffield Hallam (665) and Hull (643) had attendance figures that have never occurred before in the region.

There have been exactly 12000 parkruns with attendances of 537 or fewer (and 461 with 539 or higher - none of 538).

The average weekly attendance over the last 12 months has increased by 28.2% (8720 to 11183). The mean attendance per parkrun per week over the history of parkrun for the region is 206.2; the median is 166.

There was less clement weather across the country than last week, leading to an inevitable reduction in attendance over the Y&H region.
There were 53/53 parkruns in the Yorkshire and The Humber region.
Of 53 runs completed both last week and this, three (Cross Flatts, Goole and Sheffield Castle) had higher attendances and 50 were lower.
The increases were of 11, one and three respectively.
Total attendance was 11421, a decrease of 4185 (26.8%) from the previous week. (Two years ago this would have been a record attendance, today it was the lowest for six weeks.)

Brighouse & Penistone both had attendances of 238, Humber Bridge & Nostell had 171, Barnsley & Bramley had 138 and Cross Flatts & Rotherham had 110.

The average weekly attendance over the last 12 months has increased by 28.0% (8738 to 11181). The mean attendance per parkrun per week over the history of parkrun for the region is 206.2; the median is 166.

It looks like Penistone is settling down.

Only 4 new Age Category Records this week. Mind you storm HANNAH might have something to do with that.

I'm waiting for Run 7 or 13  to fill in a gap in my Wilson Index.

In the week that sci-fi fans mourned the death of Peter Mayhew (who portrayed Chewbacca in the Star Wars films), it seemed appropriate that parkrun took place on May the fourth.

There were 53/53 parkruns in the Yorkshire and The Humber region.
Of 53 runs completed both last week and this, 46 had higher attendances, six were lower and one (Northallerton (107)) was the same.
The largest fall in attendance was at Scunthorpe with a drop of 34.
Total attendance was 14760 (third highest ever), an increase of 3339 (29.2%) from the previous week.

Sheffield Hallam broke its own record for the highest ever attendance in the region (884, previously 868).

Bramley & Goole both had attendances of 193 and Cliffe Castle & Sewerby had 191.

Niche stat of the week is that there have now been exactly 500 parkruns in the region with attendances between 61-70.

The average weekly attendance over the last 12 months has increased by 28.3% (8757 to 11239). The mean attendance per parkrun per week over the history of parkrun for the region is 206.6; the median is 167.

What rumours?

Wonder what route it would be, around the park and through Hutcliffe wood?

The launch of another new parkrun in the Yorkshire and Humber region means it is now possible to get the Pirate badge without venturing outside the region.

There were 50/54 parkruns in the Yorkshire and Humber region. Cancellations at Bradford, Rotherham, Sheffield Hallam and Storthes Hall (all had other events taking place).
Of 46 runs completed both last week and this, 27 had higher attendances and 19 were lower.
Total attendance was 13496 an increase of 111 (0.8%) from the previous week.

Conyngham Hall launched with an attendance of 137.

Goole had a new record attendance of 219 and Horton Park had 134 (matching its previous highest). Serendipitously both these parkruns inaugural events took place on 30 May 2015. Horton Park has had just 10 events out of 206 with over 100 present.

Huddersfield & Woodhouse Moor had attendances of 645, Normanby Hall & Pontefract had 321, Goole & Halifax had 219 and Humber Bridge & Myrtle had 205.

The average weekly attendance over the last 12 months has increased by 28.1% (8814 to 11289). The mean attendance per parkrun per week over the history of parkrun for the region is 207.1; the median is 167.
