Nice, pleasant weather once again across the Yorkshire and Humber region.
57/61 events took place across the Yorkshire and Humber region. Compared with last week, only York didn’t take place (Race meeting).
Total attendance was 10988, an increase of 247 (2.3%) over last week. The largest attendance was at Huddersfield (524); the smallest – for the third consecutive week - was at Bowling Park (38). Of the events that also took place last week, 37 saw an increase in attendance, 19 saw a decrease and one (Bramley (154)) was the same.
Roberts Park (255), unsurprisingly, more than doubled the attendance from their inaugural event last week.
Last week, Endcliffe had an attendance of 487 at its 488th event, this week it was 490 at its 489th event. Goole’s attendance (117) was exactly half of its event number (234).
Lots of ‘doubles’ (and a triple) this weekend:
Roberts Park and Rothwell both had attendances of 255, Millfield and Temple Newsam had 145, Barnsley and Nostell had 143, Cleethorpes, Goole and Wetherby had 117, Halifax and Northallerton had 103, Cliffe Castle and Humber Bridge had 102, Centre Vale and Potternewton had 95 and Frickley Country and Middleton Woods had 60.
Whilst there has clearly been a significant reduction in attendance at parkrun across the region post-lockdown when compared with 2019/20, the situation is most evident at Bowling Park.
For their first eight events (25 Jan – 14 Mar 2020), the average attendance was 184.9; since 24 July 2021 it is 51.4.
The rolling weekly regional average of 12222* over the last two years represents an increase of 0.20% when compared with the previous year (12197).

Apologies if this summary of the Yorkshire & Humber region is seeming a bit like ‘Groundhog Day’, with its remarkable consistency of events and attendance.
56/61 events took place across the Yorkshire and Humber region. Of the events that have returned post-lockdown, there were cancellations at Normanby Hall and Temple Newsam.
Total attendance was 11301, an increase of 313 (2.8%) over last week. The largest attendance was at York (582); the smallest – for the fourth consecutive week - was at Bowling Park (44). Of the events that also took place last week, 25 saw an increase in attendance, 28 saw a decrease and two (Barnsley (143) and Harrogate (395)) were the same.
Roberts Park (261), saw a small increase on last week for another new record.
Cleethorpes and Heslington both had attendances of 191, Dewsbury and Skipton had 161, Dalby Forest and Goole had 148, and Bramley and Humber Bridge had 131.
Of the 58 venues that have been running (no pun intended) for over two years, 16 have seen an increase in their attendance during that time when compared with the previous year and 42 have seen a decrease.
Of those to have seen a reduction in attendance, ten venues have seen that reduce by 20%+. For those that have seen an increase, just five are above 10%, with the highest at Concord (17%).
I will let the reader draw their own conclusions.
The rolling weekly regional average of 12167* over the last two years represents a decrease of 0.80% when compared with the previous year (12265).

Another new event made it three in the last nine weeks across the Yorkshire and Humber region. (There have been four new events over the last six months of parkrunning weekends.)
58/62 events took place across the Yorkshire and Humber region. I think the stags have calmed down a bit at Normanby Hall, but clearly not enough for their event to take place!
Total attendance was 11405, an increase of 104 (0.9%) over last week. The cumulative attendance has increased for each of the last four weeks, but never by more than 3%. The largest attendance was at Endcliffe (549); the smallest was at Horton Park (40). Of the events that also took place last week, 20 saw an increase in attendance and 36 saw a decrease.
The new event was The Cinder Track and saw an attendance of 74. I don’t think I’m sticking my neck out by saying it’ll beat that next week!
Roberts Park and Sewerby both had attendances of 247, Heslington and Rothwell had 216, Concord and Temple Newsam had 148, Nostell and Penistone had 145, Bramley, Halifax and Humber Bridge had 125, Potternewton and Rotherham had 106 and Myrtle and Wetherby had 87. This was the second consecutive week that Bramley and Humber Bridge’s attendances were the same.
Since last week, the parkrun with the highest growth in attendance has changed from *Concord (16.4%) to Sheffield Castle (16.9%).
The rolling weekly regional average of 12110* over the last two years represents a decrease of 1.5% when compared with the previous year (12297).
*For an explanation of how this is calculated see the note posted on 24 July 2021.

*Concord was the venue for the first round of the Sheffield Striders  'parkrun cup'. The club hold this competition every year where pairs of entrants are drawn against each other. Their times on the day are compared and the nearest to their parkrun pb goes through to the next round. This year there were 128.  Occaisionaly the ties are 3 headers to give even numbers for the next round.
