monkeygirl
some "southern" friends are coming up in a couple of weeks and we are renting a cottage in edale for the weekend. they obviously need educating in northern ways and they have said they want : fish and chips a "good northern cafe" (not sure what that means) and some good pub food any recommendations for good places in either edale or castleton. i want to pick the right places to impress them! thanks
happyaslarry
Try 1530 restaurant and Peak Inn at Castleton, Curry Cabin at Hope (seriously: it's dinky - 18 seats - but good and cheap).
megalithic
The cafe on the front of Coopers campsite is a proper "Northern cafe", not too expensive and the food is above average imo. Food at the nags is rather crap and too pricey, also imo.

Mr Bates
Bulls Head Castleton. Good food, nice place. Attractive young femaile waitresses if you like that kind of thing.
