Special consideration for opinion derived from religious conviction?

Recommended Posts

No, spiritual awareness is a part of faith.

Or, rather, a result of faith.

So, this whole pointless detour aside and getting back to the original point, these people (who never actually lost their faith) don't find their faith again, because they only thought they'd lost it due to feeling an absence of spiritual awareness.

If that's what you meant by "Yes but many have found faith by rebelling against that indoctrination, and finding their own way", then no, they haven't, because they had their faith the whole time.

I would think faith and spiritual awareness are quite different things.

Faith being very much wrapped up in a particular religion's terminology and framework. Spiritual awareness having nothing to do with religion.

An atheist can be more spiritual aware than a religious person.

The beauty of spiritual awareness and faith is that it can be made up as you go along. It requires nothing related to the natural world.

Unless you're categorically talking about faith in theism, which we are

Faith

-complete trust or confidence in someone or something:

this restores one’s faith in politicians

-strong belief in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual conviction rather than proof:

bereaved people who have shown supreme faith

Spiritual awareness can't be made up; if there is thought or concepts involved, then it's not spiritual awareness. Try it. Stop thinking, and see for yourself.
