speleo1
more than likely the clutch with it slipping now and then,
sjalsip
It's done 85k. 52 plate. I read the release arm is self adjusting, like back shoes. As they wear, they click up a notch ect. And that's just what's happened. The clutch has worn, and finally clicked up a notch. It's an hydraulic arm anyway. Does that make any sense? speleo1
yes it does make sense self adjusting,it must have got to the end of its limit,so needing a new clutch,as no more adjustment on it,
AMR67
If it's done 85k on the original clutch then you're not doing too bad. My bet would be a new clutch plate, especially if it's been used a lot around town, commuting, rush hour driving etc. You're gonna be looking £250 + to get it replaced. sjalsip
I do a lot of small commuting, my work is only 2 miles away if even that. Clutch cost me £69 and I'll be fitting it myself on Saturday.

I work as a crane driver now because nobody will employ me as a mechanic. It's easy when you know how lol
AMR67
I don't understand, If you've done all this training and you're a mechanic, why were you asking for advice in the first place.
geared
Being trained as a mechanic and having the time/tools/space to do a job are two different things.
