Ousetunes
Yes - same company tried to screw me. Problem is, you talk to a programmed muppet on the end of the phone who is incapable of saying anything that isn't written on the computer screen in front of him / her. Biggest crooks in the game, insurance companies. Followed by banks and the utilities and then broadband and TV providers / companies. The country's awash with them. Aren't they supposed to be regulated? Chocolate teapots and sleeping partners these regulatory bodies (see Chris Patten and the BBC Trust). wagginfinger
in reply to Scottf--this is not the reason --as Hastings Direct stated that I was now in a lower risk area----
cgksheff
All their charges are made clear. May be a "rip-off" but if you sign up to them, you take the rough with the smooth. They say that they charge £35 for 'Change of Address', so maybe they gave you a discount as you were near the end of your policy?
wagginfinger
any charges should be reasonable--I state the case of the banks excessive overdraft charges for letters --these were proved in court to be not proportional to the amount of work involved and had to pay back some of the charges
Janus
Just had same with Hastings. Wanted a £20 renewal fee!!!!!! Errr you want me to pay you for being a loyal customer. I don't think so! Just rang up to cancel the renewal and they waived the charge then. Outrageous. You did right Yorkie.
Dardandec
I got charged an admin fee to change my policy to a different car when I had M & S car insurance which I thought was a rip off. Cant remember how much exactly, think is was £25. Never used to get charged when I was with zurich but the policy was costing me more anyway. I'm currently with hastings but haven't made any changes to the policy as yet.
