mrs patching
There was a lady upset today outside first point. She told me she was being made homeless and had no money. She had walked to Peaks from Arborthorne, she was told to go to Howden House. I gave her money to get a bus but she walked away from the bus stop. Just wondered if she had approached anyone else or if she was genuine and needed help.
Electerrific
The cynic in me suspects a scam? Many try this outside the train station.
The Giraffe
She could have walked to town (and Howden House) from Arbourthorne not sure what she was doing at Crystal Peaks.... sounds like a scam to me...
mrs patching
Yes i thought it was odd . But i gave her bus fare. I'm hard up but if she needs it more than me then so be it. If i see her again i will ask for my money back.
verydull
simple rules apply. pay for the person to get on the bus with the bus driver, give them a coffee or tea if they are cold and feed if they are hungry. dont give money...
hackey lad
happens a lot at c peaks bus station usually around teatime. one of the regulars is an oldish type bloke with a scouse accent and walks with an arched ,humped over back . he comes out with a very similar story to this and if anyone does give him money he never catches the bus but usually waits a while and then nips into bookies
