Help with family tree

Hi,

My cousin in Cambridge is working on the family tree using Ancestory and other such tools but has come across a bit of a stumbling block.

It's a long shot but I wondered if these names rang a bell to anyone.

Edwin Oxley

Mary Emma Melissa cockayne

Frances Cockayne.

The dates are around 1864 to 1884 that have been given for different life events. And Attercliffe has been mentioned as a place of interest.

Thanks

Katie

Mary Emma Melissa Cockaynes parents appear to be William Cockayne born 1842 and Ann Thrutchley born 1844. Someone on Ancestry is researching this family. No Frances Cockayne has shown up as yet. Although there is a Frances Annie born 1896 could this be her?

As you have the marriage details the best way to find the father of Edwin Oxley is to purchase his marriage certificate showing his father's name and his occupation.

In family history research it's always wise to "prove as you go", it saves making expensive mistakes by following the wrong line through.

Good luck.
