I don't think she has need to be worried, especially about what they have over their face. She would need to be more concerned about the couple of tyres and a can of petrol their carrying.

Do you think she will be allowed to keep anonymity and her veil if she gets 6 months?

I don't have a problem with religious symbols. I just have a problem with kids hiding behind a mask. I'd have a bigger problem with teachers doing the same.

I think you just contradicted yourself there.

Unless you want to argue that the veil isn't a religious symbol?

So what religion would it be if someone hid behind a Halloween mask or a Lone Ranger mask or dressed as Bat Man or perhaps the Elephant Man?

For this to be taken seriously, we need to get a few things straight.

The hijab. Most muslim schoolgirls I've seen wear this.

The niqab and burqa. I have never seen a schoolgirl wearing one of either of these.

Which, if any of these garments do the banners wish to ban and why?

Open the link.

Hundreds of girls are bring forced by British schools to wear the Islamic veil in a move which has been heavily criticised by mainstream Muslims.

Islamic schools have introduced uniform policies which force girls to wear the burka or a full headscarf and veil known as the niqab.

Moderate followers of Islam said yesterday that enforcement of the veil was a "dangerous precedent" and that children attending such schools were being "brainwashed".

Ed Husain, co-director of Quilliam, the counter-extremist think-tank, said: "It is absurd that schools are enforcing this outdated ritual – one that which sends out a damaging message that Muslims do not want to fully partake in British society.

Perhaps reading would help you out.

The Deputy Prime Minister said that he can “totally understand” why people say that children should not to be allowed to wear full-face veils during lessons.

Mr Clegg said that teachers “want to be able to make contact” with their pupils.

His comments came after he said that he was “uneasy” about Birmingham Metropolitan College’s decision to ban Muslim students from wearing the niqab, a veil that leaves a slot only for the eyes.

The college has ordered all students, staff and visitors to remove any face coverings so individuals are "easily identifiable at all times".

The move led to claims that Muslim students were being discriminated against.
