puisseguin
The college has changed its mind after the student body rejected the ban. What has that got to do with anything?
SqueakyPete
For this to be taken seriously, we need to get a few things straight. The hijab. Most muslim schoolgirls I've seen wear this. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/pop_ups/05/europe_muslim_veils/html/1.stm The niqab and burqa. I have never seen a schoolgirl wearing one of either of these. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/spl/hi/pop_ups/05/europe_muslim_veils/html/2.stm Which, if any of these garments do the banners wish to ban and why? I don't think thread is about hijab's.
Halibut
What has that got to do with anything? You might as well ask yourself since you posted the piece I was responding to. It appeared that you weren't aware of it, so I was bringing you up to date.
boyfriday
Yeah, theres a lot of truth in that BF. Asian kids were reknowned for wearing unfashionable clothes (eg, starred jumpers, 2-3yrs after they went out of fashion). You mean I can no longer pop down to Harringtons for me Star jumper and High Waisters? I'd love to know how many WANT to wear it ? Have you ever speculated on how many women actually want to wear g-strings and sexy bras all the time?
mafya
Yeah, theres a lot of truth in that BF. Asian kids were reknowned for wearing unfashionable clothes (eg, starred jumpers, 2-3yrs after they went out of fashion). Cant remember seeing any girls or women wearing Islamic headgear. The question is though. Why is it so common thesedays in 2013 ? Why the change ? Have Muslims in general become more religious ? If so why ? ---------- Post added 16-09-2013 at 12:31 ---------- I'd love to know how many WANT to wear it ? I think some do it as they know that it really winds the Islam haters up. Mozilla
They talking about Full-face veils...mainly worn in Saudi Arabia. You don't see many wearing them here in the Uk...so no big deal This is as usually more about right wing media as usually stirring up racial hatred....
