Cyclone
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Left%E2%80%93right_politics There is general agreement that the Left includes: anarchists, anti-capitalists, anti-imperialists, autonomists, communists, democratic-socialists, feminists, greens, left-libertarians, progressives, secularists, socialists, social-democrats and social-liberals.[5][6][7] There is also general consensus that the Right includes: capitalists, conservatives, fascists, monarchists, nationalists, neoconservatives, neoliberals, reactionaries, right-libertarians, social-authoritarians, theocrats and traditionalists.[8] The right means authoritarian government, whether that be small or big. And so the far right means extreme authoritarianism, like fascism as an example.

I'm a feminist (as much as a man can be), a green (except on CAGW), a progressive, a capitalist and a libertarian. Am I right or left?
Cyclone
Must you be defined as a single thing? You can have liberal views on some things, authoritarian views on others. Your views sound relatively similar to mine on a broad level. Personally I'd describe myself as a liberal, since left in UK politics means socialist and right means authoritarian. I'd advocate small government, the minimal interference necessary, but whilst the right would like to cut the size and cost of government, it wouldn't like to reduce the level of interference in your life. And the left (in UK politics) seems to favour big government, still authoritarian and lax spending control. They're not all that different, and I don't like either of them. Cyclone
No it doesn't. Left means big government socialist and right means small government libertarian. It doesn't though. You can't just redefine the common meaning of right wing.
Flanker7
Fascism is a construct of the left. National SOCIALISM. ...or to put it another way:- NATIONAL socialism 'The Internationale' nature of socialism has been at the forefront of their thinking since the beginning. So much so that the above is almost a contradiction in terms.
Cyclone
Interesting image here which splits authoritarian/liberal on one axis and left/right on the other http://files.abovetopsecret.com/files/img/yy4fc12425.jpg Fascism, at the far top right, extreme authoritarian and extreme right wing. Despotic socialism (communism) at the extreme authoritarian and extreme left wing.
