megalithic
This is in reply to a few threads on here atm. I do agree that any breed can be nasty if the owners are incompetent, though it's not really the dogs fault. So given that is it time for all breeds to be muzzled in public ? And any owner not complying has their dog/s taken from them ? It's a yes from me.
Just Sarah
I voted yes even though im a dog owner and have been for years without any incident at all. However not everyone trains their dogs as well as i do.
nikki-red
Ive voted yes, even tho my dog wouldn't hurt a fly (he did once snort a spider up tho!) It wouldn't however stop things like the terrible Mastiff attack thats in the news, as they were running loose.
megalithic
Thing for me is that many small dog owners are now wary of taking their dogs a walk for fear of being chomped by a chav dog, i myself wont walk my JRT without "protection" for her, and i feel it's wholly justified no matter how illegal that may be. I know this is punishing responsible owners but what else can be done ?
Chris_Sleeps
No, it seems like a broad brush policy and is completely unpoliceable.

Chris_Sleeps
but something needs to be done Why? What are the problems that can only be solved by universal dog muzzling?

megalithic
Why? What are the problems that can only be solved by universal dog muzzling? Oh come on Chris, you can't have missed all the dog on dog attacks posted on here, and that's leaving out attacks on humans.
Chris_Sleeps
you can't have missed all the dog on dog attacks posted on here Okay. So your argument is "dog on dog attacks will be prevented if the law states that all dogs must be muzzled"? To which I would ask; are the police going to make regular patrols of the streets looking for unmuzzled dogs? If not, then the policy is impractical. The scrotes who don't follow the law now won't follow the law in the future.
