DEDICATION AUDIO LAUNCH

Over the past 9 months Dedication Audio has been appearing at a variety of different events providing sound for a variety of styles of music...however, starting in October 2013, every few months we will be bringing a selection of our favourite DJs of the moment to come and demonstrate exactly what this rig was built to do. For the occasion, we will be bringing out the whole stack - all 20,000 watts of it - and plonking it in Sheffield's very own DLS!! Make sure you bring your spare rib cages!!

What with the timing 'n' all, it would've been rude not to have Displace terrorising Room 2 on the FULL <20Hz Sound System for their 2nd Birthday celebrations!!

Sounding appealing? Wait for the line-up...

PHAELEH (Afterglo)

Since his debut release in 2008, Phaeleh aka Matt Preston has developed an inimitable style of cinematic electronic music, which meanders between the shifting tempos and timbres of dubstep, garage, electronica and house music.

Phaeleh's last two releases on Afterglo records; 'Fallen Light' and 'The Cold In You' have cemented his position as one of the most exciting new producers to emerge from his home town; Bristol. Phaeleh's downbeat and heartfelt sound honours the tradition of Bristolian fore fathers Massive Attack, Smith & Mighty and Portishead, with a fresh outlook and penchant for sub sonics.

His high spec production style has won him support from the scene's leading taste makers including; Skream, N-Type, Scuba and Kryptic Minds, as well as radio coverage on BBC Radio 1, BBC 6 Music, Kiss, Rinse and XFM.

Phaeleh is currently in high demand, with a busy DJ schedule for this summer, including dates at; Fabric, Outlook Festival, Kendal Calling, Secret Garden Party & Beach Break. He is also working on his next feature length recording, due for release in early 2013.

ALIX PEREZ

Belgian born Alix Depauw is the face behind production moniker Alix Perez, now regarded as one of the most ground-breaking and innovative producer-DJ's of his generation.

With a history of critically acclaimed releases on legendary labels such as Metalheadz, V Recordings and Soul:R, Alix went on to sign exclusively to Friction's very own imprint, Shogun Audio, the home of his remarkable debut album '1984.' Straying from the traditional confines of drum & bass, '1984' went on to be one of the most highly regarded and rated electronica albums of 2009, gaining extraordinary reviews and extensive support globally.

Since his outstanding debut LP on Shogun Audio in '09, 2010 brought with it further successes, involving collaborations with technical gods of the highest order including Noisia, Foreign Beggars and Icicle, alongside the release of his 'Dark Days' EP.

2012 has seen him continue with his alter-ego Arp 101 project, producing some of the most sought after broken beat electronica around right now, earning a slot down at the infamous Boiler Room TV sessions and performing with the Foreign Beggars at BBC's legendary Maida Vale studios.

SOUL INTENT

Soul Intent aka Alex Judd has been DJ'ing since he was 15. On first hearing a DJ Randall mixtape Alex knew he wanted to become a DJ.

In December 2006 he sent off a CD to Mary Ann Hobbs at Radio 1. Pretty much straight away she got in touch, saying she was going to play 'Jus Vibe' (Blindside Recordings) on her show that same week. A few days later after DJ Flight played 'Bibio Dub' on her Next Chapter show on Radio 1's digital station 1xtra. Then shortly after Christmas the Godfather himself (that’s Grooverider, for any younger listeners) on his Friday night Radio1 show said, "I'm expecting big things from this guy”.

Now in 2013, with over 16 vinyl releases behind him, Soul Intent continues to build a reputation for producing and DJ'ing exciting and fresh music. If he’s not DJ’ing around the UK or Europe, he’s working on his own imprint Lossless Music or busy in the studio, either as Soul Intent or as his 140bpm alias Odyssia (released material on Kokeshi).
