Andy
Government get the money. I assume it goes into "the pot" along with all out tax revenue to help reduce the national debt.
Crosser
Surprisingly..... Some of it goes to the Royal Mail (the percentage of which they are not selling off) .... Well that's what we are told, but really a percentage goes into the pockets of the people who (unsurprisingly) set up buying cartels & have inside knowledge of the statistics & forecasts of such an enterprise... The rest goes into the coffers of the country you would hope? Insider trading at it's worst . But nevermind, eventually there will be nothing left for them to sell, then the REAL CRASH will come... Crosser
another legacy of thatchers policies then ALL politicians are "having us over", It probably started with the Thatcher admin, It has been common policy to allow private enterprise to run the show on most fronts ever since. In my opinion, some things SHOULD be run by the state and be regulated with the common good (rather than profit) at heart. Energy & The Royal Mail being two. But to keep on topic, E-Mail has prettymuch made "letters" redundant, and the price of sending larger "physical" items has been competitive for years & years. So basically we are being sold a "dead duck".... I wouldn't invest! that's for sure.
Anna B
How long before postal workers are being sacked to up profits for the shareholders? That'll be more people on the dole.
*_ash_*
regarding the royal mail sell off who gets the money and where does it go ? They give some of it to the bankers as a bonus, then go to some rich people and say here have some tax free money. Then hire some rich kids to go around wafting wads of notes to the poor pensioners whilst laughing at them. Anything that's left they send to India for their arms programme. Why do you ask rhetorical questions Gem?:hihi:

Anna B
The sale of Royal Mail should never have happened. What gives this government the right to sell off the family silver until there's nothing left?
