BEDROCK
Hey, I have a Candy fridge freezer that is on its last legs and have taken out an extra cover plan with Domestic & General which has been a life saver and after numerous faults they are sending me a brand new replacement, the model number is here: Candy CFBF3050EK http://ao.com/product/CFBF3050EK-Candy-Fridge-Freezer-White-24905.aspx Now I can only use a free standing model and am wondering with this being a build in type whether I can still use this free standing without worrying about banging it in a fitted kitchen which I have not got nor afford to get in a 1 bed flat with no 2 pennies to rub together. Are there any fridge freezer experts on the board?
aliceBB
There is no technical reason why you cannot use it outside its normal housing. It will just look odd. You may be better to sell it brand new on gumtree and buy yourself a freestanding model with the money you get.

By the looks of it I may be able to get away with it, the top lip looks removable and am sure it can stand upright in its current state, I am ringing them on Monday so see what they say about it. Mr Bloom
Check your policy, the replacement offered should be either the same make and model or if that is not available, then as near as damn it up to the same value. If you're not happy with that model, ask them for an alternative, they'll always try and fob you off with what THEY want you to have first. I turned 3 down for my dishwasher recently as they were nowhere near the spec of my insured item, in the end they sent me a cheque and I sourced my own.
