Cameron, No dole for under 25's

Recommended Posts

There's a lot of stuff I'm still trying to get my head around in all this. How if we only have 500,000 jobs available are the young every going to find work with 1m young people unemployed.

The other thing is why are so many uk jobs advertised abroad with travel costs etc being paid. see here:

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/800000-uk-jobs-advertised-across-europe--and-foreign-jobseekers-even-get-travelling-costs-8734731.html

and thirdly how come that figure is a drop in the ocean when this site states that

there are 1518012 job vacancies available in the UK

https://ec.europa.eu/eures/main.jsp?acro=job&lang=en&viewDistrib=true

If europe is funding all this then how do our kids stand a chance of competing

But WHO is offering this money for travelling costs and bonuses?

"Foreign jobseekers are also being offered up to £900 to cover travelling costs to the UK for interviews, while UK employers can receive a £1,000 bonus for taking on a non-British worker, the Telegraph reported".

Iv'e no idea, is the funding coming from Europe? and why has the UK got the highest number of jobs on offer, where are they all?

Maybe these are the immigration figures, rather than employment vacancies figures.

I don't think so it's clearly headed job vacancies. The number is shifting by the hour as employers add to it. It seems that it's the UK employers who are advertising for foreign labour, is it the £1000 sweetener as you say above that's doing it plus low wages.

The thing I find very odd in all these changes to the benefits system, is the relatively small cost to the country of benefits. It's not going to save us all that much money when JSA makes up about 1% of government expenditure.

Imagine JSA was completely abolished, the saving wouldn't even put a noticeable dent into the deficit!

Which does make the whole thing look more like a PR exercise... A rather stupid one IMO though, as the conservatives are alienating more potential voters who claimed benefits, than they are pleasing voters who didn't.

Blimey Cyclone! We agree on something at last.

What percentage of potential Tory voters have been on JSA?

I wouldn't have a clue.....that's one of those questions that is probably unanswerable.

I guess nowadays with job insecurity rife, virtually anyone could be made unemployed - Are you trying to make a crude party policial point?
