The BBC understands Ofsted's findings were so damning that the acting head of Al-Madinah, in Derby, had little choice but to shut it down immediately. "In a series of newspaper reports unnamed former staff members of Al-Madinah, which opened as a free school in September last year, had alleged that girls were forced to sit at the back of the classroom. Unnamed female staff members have also claimed they were forced to conform to a strict dress code including wearing a head scarf or hijab - whether or not they were Muslim. " Surely not! If the reports are correct it sounds like this school was seriously failing its pupils, hopefully their education won't have been affected long term and serious questions are asked of the governors. I also read yesterday of a female non muslim teacher at the school who offended a male teacher by having a 2" gap between the bottom of her skirt and the top of her boots showing even though she was wearing thick tights. melthebell Posted October 2, 2013 Share Posted October 2, 2013 here we go, shouting from the rooftops MUSLIM school does it matter? a failures a failure we took our kids out of the local school as it was put under special measures and our kids learning was held back, we took em to a better school in the next village and their learning shot up to the required level read in the local paper the "good" school has been praised by ofsted again Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
