cuttsie
What is the difference between retread and remould tyres.
Obelix
A retreaded tyre is where the grooves are recut into the tyre as it is worn down. This needs a thick belt of rubber on the tyre to accomodate this cutting. They are often found on coaches and lorries and are illegal for cars Remoulds are where the belt is shaved smooth and then extra rubber is moulded on top of it and a new tread is formed as part of that addition of rubber. Legal for cars. Essentially a remould adds rubber, a retreading just cuts shallow grooves deeper.

That is not what is claimed on Ebay the retread company more or less says that their tyres are as good as new but remoulds are crap.
Obelix
I can't speak for or comment on what someone else is saying - what I've posted above is my understanding of it and the legal position.
