Ancient Confession Found: 'We Invented Jesus Christ'

Recommended Posts

the newsreader on red dwarf stated this many years ago. The missing first page of the bible read:

"To my darling Candy, all the characters in this novel are ficticious....":hihi:

Although of course red dwarf is based in the future so we haven't found the page yet!

Not sure what to make of this thread. I mean, its no secret the old and new testiments were essentially written by government is it?

There is no such thing as the old and new tesitments. However there is such a thing as the old and new testaments they make up the bible.:hihi::hihi::hihi:

I've always thought that if Jesus was made up he'd be a lot more bad-ass he would'nt of been crucified he would of probably flown over Jerusalem zapping people and flipping off Pilate

I've always had the sense that J.C existed but couldn't really do magic and stuff.

1. Jesus did exist. There are records of his views in the Mishnah (albeit censored by the Romans)

2. Jesus was a Jew by virtue of his mother being a Jewess (and irrespective of who his father was).

3. Jesus did not found a new religion- that came some three centuries after his death.

4. And the 'Gospels' were written several decades after even that.

there is in fact more evidence that jesus Christ walked on this earth than Julius Ceaser. have a look here :- http://www.whatchristianswanttoknow.com/what-historical-evidence-is-there-to-support-the-existence-of-jesus-christ/

Rhetorical nonsense.

This is a strange argument that is very lacking in evidence and seems to be more of a rhetorical mantra than anything else. Nevertheless, I have heard this argument uttered by preachers, Youth Pastors, Christian authors, etc. The only supporting evidence given for this argument is that there are more manuscript copies of the Bible than for any other book in history. However, just because many copies exist for a particular book or story doesn’t mean that the original copy is a factual historical account. Anyone should be able to deduce that. For example, there are millions of copies of the movie “Star Wars” on video tape and DVD, but that doesn’t mean that the story itself is a true story. Therefore, this is a very silly argument.

Also, the existence of Julius Caesar is documented by many historical documents, accounts, and the writings of secular historians of his time. On the other hand, there is no such evidence for the existence of Jesus, so the two analogies are not even comparable in the slightest.

There are no other humans who have ever lived on earth that more has been written about that establishes these facts: that He did exist

For a start, that statement is preceding from a false premise. Jesus exists because he was written about a lot, therefore he was human and has been written about more than any other human, so thus he existed.

So by that criteria, James Bond is more real than Sidney Reilly.

Try it this way:

There are no other spies who have ever lived on earth that more has been written about that establishes these facts: that Bond did exist

Same "logic" in both cases.
