Oldtrout
My mum has kindly let me have my nannan's old mahogany china cabinet. Mum says she remembers her mum paying weekly for it, some time during the 1930s or 1940s. I suspect it was probably purchased after the war, but mum seems to think earlier. The card attached to the back shows the name 'Midland and Hackney Furniture Co, 74 High Street, Sheffield'. I've googled it, but found nothing. Has anyone any information on this company, please. Hopefully I can pinpoint what years they traded there. ---------- Post added 11-10-2013 at 04:46 ---------- Sorry to bring this up again ... anyone any ideas please?
