boyfriday
Big time? Just about everyone in the world knows who Ali is. Nick Griffin is virtually unknown outside these shores. But he never stood for president
Halibut
Big time? Just about everyone in the world knows who Ali is. Nick Griffin is virtually unknown outside these shores. Jim, yes. Everyone in the world knows who Ali is on account of his sporting brilliance and charismatic personality - not because he said some dodgy things about mixed marriage and white men. Griffin is virtually unknown outside these shores and only known within them for being a racist knob with no redeeming features.

To be fair he does look like a prominent member of the Potato Head Family.
Halibut
In other words - Ali's racism = minor facet of otherwise admirable character Griffin's racism = driving force behind thoroughly loathsome character.
boyfriday
In other words - Ali's racism = minor facet of otherwise admirable character Griffin's racism = driving force behind thoroughly loathsome character. Indeed and had Ali sought a political platform to further his views then the comparison between he and Griffin would be well made.
mikeye
i dont need to say it, ive never said the opposite either, like i said the difference being, ali is loved cos of his sporting achievements NOT his race hate im against all forms of racism its just in this country through history, the vast MAJORITY (for the hard of thinking that doesnt mean all) racism is white on whatever but to some thats what sparks their stupidity in trying to say blacks can never be racist So you love a racist? ---------- Post added 12-10-2013 at 19:06 ---------- In other words - Ali's racism = minor facet of otherwise admirable character Griffin's racism = driving force behind thoroughly loathsome character. So you are saying you can be a racist and have good qualities as well? Is it possible then that Griffin could have good qualities? Perhaps he helps an animal sanctuary or something...? mikeye
Indeed and had Ali sought a political platform to further his views then the comparison between he and Griffin would be well made. That's a bit confusing because Ali was much more influential than Griffin ever is / was. Ali was the most famous man on the planet when he was making racist statements... It looks like you're trying to make excuses for him? ---------- Post added 12-10-2013 at 19:08 ---------- LOL where the hell do you get that from? personally speaking hes never interested me, probably cos im not really into sport, specially boxing so................no, i dont So did you forgive Ali's racist statements? Halibut
So you love a racist? Talk about desperate; Mel and millions around the world love Ali's sporting prowess and strength of character. His racists opinions, however briefly held are not central to who Ali was and what he stood for. Griffin is a repellent character of whom almost nothing positive can be said. percy filth
So you love a racist? ---------- Post added 12-10-2013 at 19:06 ---------- So you are saying you can be a racist and have good qualities as well? Is it possible then that Griffin could have good qualities? Perhaps he helps an animal sanctuary or something...? It seems in some eyes it is OK to be racist if you are black, Muslim, famous in sport, don't seek political office and keep it lower key than Nick Griffin.
