Why do some women become porn ''actresses''?

I read recently about certain porn 'stars' vehemently defending their career path as if it was normal, and as if other women were somehow abnormal for not doing likewise?

 

They claim to be ''cleaner'' than the rest of society as they purport to get health checks after each scene. But as they supposedly pay for their tests themselves, and many escort as well, are they to be trusted?

 

Are we completely taboo-free today? Is there no moral stigma about being a porn actress? How would we feel about female relatives etc doing it? Are these women mentally/emotionally damaged, uneducated, trash or needing psychiatric help?

 

If porn is so 'normal', why don't more women do this for a profession, rather than studying hard or working in an office?

 

 

I suppose society has changed and folk go to clubs expecting sex with a stranger on the way home. As the "actresses" get paid around £1500 a scene and can shoot 3 or 4 in a day it can certainly make a hole in those tuition fees.

Why have you singled out women for criticism? Don't men appear in porn films too? Aren't they deserving of the same criticism you dish out to women? It's not as if porn is an illegal activity. Most paedophiles, rapists, etc, are men so where's the gender attack there?

There are a number of these actresses who do AMA's on reddit where such questions are answered regularly. I remember one who said her abusive (now ex) boyfriend got her into it. She has since left the business but is now a high class escort.

 

From my understanding, many of these women simply do not see the problem with performing on camera. It is use, the people outside that have an issue with it and wouldn't do it ourselves.

Why don't more women become submariners, or tight-rope walkers, or brain surgeons or racing car drivers... Who knows.

 

To actually answer the title of the thread, they probably do the job in order to make a lot of money. I doubt they started out at age 8 with that as a career aspiration.

I think most people accept its existence but do question whether or not it is a wise career choice.On a documentary many US stars revealed they had to wear nappies to overcome stretched recta-a consequence of strenuous unnatural acts performed to placate a hungry male audience.Anyone who would want this is deserving of the help you advocate.

 

That sounds particularly unpleasant. But then my Granddad had vibration white finger and emphysema from the job he did. My Dads knees are shot from his job. And my job is sedentary and a lot of my colleagues are unfit and will probably die young from lack of exercise and too many pies.

 

My point is that most or at least many jobs cause some kind of physical damage.

I don't think it was bitterness at all.

 

It's a valid point, is there some reason you are ignoring the role of male porn actors? Do you think they're also abnormal, liars and mentally damaged?
