Simple question. Are they doing good work? Is it the answer to expel terrorism. I suggest a visit to their site to see what they're about.

They have to be a good thing?

Could Ii request that all contributors please vote in the poll if they want to post. I've left the poll open so our votes can be seen. Its the best way to see who's serious about their thoughts and who's a troll.

Too early to say the proof will be in the pudding, it's alright them getting Tommy Robinson on board, their biggest challenge is getting Islamist extremists to change their way of thinking ...... IMHO !

Here's what they have to say about themselves.

About Us

Quilliam is the world’s first counter-extremism think tank set up to address the unique challenges of citizenship, identity, and belonging in a globalised world. Quilliam stands for religious freedom, equality, human rights and democracy.

Challenging extremism is the duty of all responsible members of society. Not least because cultural insularity and extremism are products of the failures of wider society to foster a shared sense of belonging and to advance liberal democratic values. With Islamist extremism in particular, we believe a more self-critical approach must be adopted by Muslims. Westophobic ideological influences and social insularity needs to be challenged within Muslim communities by Muslims themselves whilst simultaneously, an active drive towards creating an inclusive civic identity must be pursued by all members of society.

Quilliam seeks to challenge what we think, and the way we think. It aims to generate creative, informed and inclusive discussions to counter the ideological underpinnings of terrorism, whilst simultaneously providing evidence-based recommendations to governments for related policy measures.

The irony

Have you an opinion? Or are you just trolling. There's a voting option if you'd like to vote. If you want to keep your opinions hidden, for some reason, though, It's up to you.

They are pressing for Gay men to be treated fairly as well. There are many good points on their site.

HOMOSEXUALS ARE TREATED POORLY IN MANY MUSLIM-MAJORITY SOCIETIES, WHAT DOES QUILLIAM HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS?

Our stance is to clearly separate the civic debate from the religious debate. This does not mean that we encourage Muslims to shirk any pressing matters of theological reform. Rather, we see ourselves more as an organisation disseminating inter-disciplinary views that enhance human rights and mutual respect, not as a religious organisation devising reform theology. Consequently, we believe that Islam should not be judged by the condemnable actions of Islamist regimes. As human beings and equal citizens, Quilliam believes that homosexuals should to be treated equally in all respects and in all countries. Consequently, we will continue to campaign for civil liberties for all human beings, and don’t think we need to dabble in theology to do this. We at Quilliam address theology only to dismantle the ideology of Islamism itself. Hence, we will speak out openly against anyone who calls for, or believes, that homosexuals should be punished by law in any way, in any country. However, we cannot provide religious edicts in order to change any religion from the outside in order to make homosexuality considered permissible (or Halal).

You're not interested in Quilliam. You've designed a bait thread with a clear intention. Your OP is testament to this as you've put more effort into the business off "trolls" as much as you have about Quilliam, which is very limited other than you parroting what is already available.

But as one poster has pointed out, irony again seems to have escaped you.

As for votes, sorry, you don't get it that easy. If at all. As Michael_W has explained, far to early to make any comment on success.

Anything other than violence or intimidation which creates harmony between opposing cultures can only be a good thing. I'm always wary of those that beat the drum the loudest are those that have a very dodgy background. So pardon me if I don't fall into your fluffy world of make belief.

Mosques are also doing some very worthwhile damage limitation within their own communities.

You would never have heard of Quilliam unless your sweetheart teddybear was connected.
