Life sentences to be introduced for human trafficking

The government is to introduce life sentences for human trafficking

A maximum life sentence for the worst cases of human trafficking and exploitation is to be introduced.

It comes after Home Secretary Theresa May said tougher sanctions would be brought in to tackle modern-day slavery earlier this year.

The number of cases discovered in the UK has risen by 25% in the last year, according to new government figures.

Trafficking from Albania, Poland and Lithuania has seen a big rise.

Ministers are planning new legislation to simplify the law on slavery, and make it easier to bring prosecutions.

Victims are often targeted for sexual exploitation, construction work or begging gangs.

It can't come soon enough after that disgusting case where a man & his wife trafficked a girl from Pakistan and forced her to work as a slave and repeatedly raped her for almost a decade.

The criminals who treat people like slaves.

I think AO was alluding to the fact that how do you tell who is who?

1: Does a trafficker come with external identification?

2: Is a trafficker purely identified based on "what he/she" looks like, genetics?

3: Stop all immigration because of the actions of one. (sledgehammer/walnut)

Any trafficker entering the country is very unlikely to volunteer their intention.

I have to say it's about time this sort of crime was dealt with more harshly, lets hope the courts have the bottle to carry out the right sentences.

Off topic drivel removed. You might like to consider that it takes more than one person to start a thread down the usual road of pointless bickering and amend your posting accordingly.

Now - back on topic.
