larryking
I am a regular runner for last three years and have done many half marathons, 10Ks and countless 5K including weekly parkrun. Tomorrow it will be my 85th Parkrun and on sunday I will be running the BUPA Birmingham Half marathon. I am just wondering other than the usual consessions on entry fees, what difference would it make if I join a running club? Will my performance/time be improved by running with better runners? or else should I stick to my own running plan? I have never run a full marathon but its one of my dreams.. cheers
Cyclone
I've recently started running with people at work and it is pushing me and reducing my times. Not an official club though, just a friendly group.
jemson
If it fits in with your schedule , yes. £2 per race usually.
Waldo
I also just run with friends, training and racing, it's a good support network and friendly competition on races. Have been considering joining a club too, for a little more structure and training tips.
NickDuggan
Running with other people will improve your performance , on club nights people go out in all weathers so you might go out when tempted to stay at home. Some additional races only open to club members .
