Sternenflug
Hi, does anyone know a running group in Broomhill for a recreational runner? I often see people jogging around when I do, little groups of 2-5 people. Thanks.
Flanker7
Hi Herr Sternenflug - goto - http://www.parkrun.org.uk/sheffieldhallam/results/latestresults/ These are the most recent results from Sheffield Hallam parkrun which is a timed 5k run in Endcliffe Park every Saturday morning at 9:00am. You will see that there is a 'club' column which names loads of clubs in the area. There is usually a link to their club site. They range from the mega friendly to the seriously competitive. 'Porter Valley Plodders' and 'Smiley Pacers' are two of the well known recreational ones. There are 215 parkruns in the Uk and 4 more in Sheffield. Hillsborough Park also has one if you are nearer that end. See 'The parkrun thread' below. Its free, forever, too! The Pirate, Graves parkrun - Hills & Highland Cows. scottf
Im a runner based up in crookes, not in a club at the minute but wanting the motivation that a club would provide, unfortunately at 5k the parkrun is too short for me.

PeteM01
PeteM01- I do about 5 minutes kilometers. Similar speed to me - over 10k anyway. I usually run out from 'lower Crookes' towards Redmires, 10k-20k depending on the time of day and how I feel, on Friday evenings or Sunday mornings (rarely both!). PM me if you want to have a joint run at some point - might be a good way of picking the pace up a little?
