It's only eliminated the possibility of the head gasket being faulty between oilways and waterways..the water could be leaking directly into the combustion chamber and never get anywhere near the oil...just saying.. has the cooling system been bled properly since it was refilled...it could be air in the system... Seems like air in the system was the problem, Its been fine now and will be keeping a close eye on it.
