Madeleine McCann investigation

There is something not right about this, I've felt it right from the start.

True, the fact they left the kids alone should haunt them whether they catch an abductor or not. I see "we don't want any publicity ", Meghan is poking her nose in again!

I am in no way a fan of her, but what exactly has she said regarding the situation of Madeleine McCann?

Not really sure what you mean because it's clearly not right a child should be abducted.  If the now chief suspect didn't have a criminal record thirteen years ago then it's not a surprise he went under the radar of the  international police investigating  at the time and the months and years after the crime was committed.  All will become clearer if charges are made and the suspect is found guilty in a court.

The parents of missing children are usually humble and like rabbits in the headlights in front of the media, but right from the start the McCann's have been aggressively on the front foot, dictating the narrative, hiring that arrogant Clarence Mitchel to  jump down the throats of any dissenters, dictating what questions can and can't be asked and so on.  Gerry McCann is a well connected Freemason as well which doesn't help.

The parents of missing Madeleine are well educated people who have done their best to keep the story alive with the hope of finding their daughter alive one day. Claudia Lawrence's father has done the same by seeking the media to keep the story alive in the hope of one day finding out what happened to his missing daughter.

That's one of way of looking at it.

Critics may say they have attempted to cash in on the murder/disappearance /other tragedy and become "celebrity" victims using their educated and privileged positions to manipulate organisations and the media.

Clearly they have continually got attention for which victims from, let's say, a poorer and less educated background wouldn't get.

It's not unreasonable to question what is the magic spark that gets some victims a PR agent and lots of press coverage and others virtually ignored.

What is the formula that makes the reactors and commenters of these horrendous circumstances quite open  judge one set of parents as "victims of a tragic mistake for which they can never forgive themselves" and another set of parents as "disgusting scumbag lowlife negligent people who should be hanged".

Who cares about the critics. Any one of us in their position would have done everything in our power to find out what had happened to our daughter.

Missing White Woman Syndrome?

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Missing_white_woman_syndrome

How much public money has been spend on finding this one individual; why isn't that same amount of money spent on searching for individuals from a less desirable demographic; for example, a poor young black male?

The majority of humanity isn't white. Does "white woman syndrome" exist across Asia, the middle east and Africa?
