bassett one
the hallamshire hospital is terrible for disabled parking, then if you can get in the car park indoors you have to pay,but many times theres is no parking at all,the other problem is the moor market, outside the market theres no reason for not having some disabled spaces instead of yellow lines with lips on so no one can park,no thought has this council for the disabled, its needs a change of councillors to sort it or a closer election that always makes them think, the trouble is like most things the roads were not built for modern traffic, including many estates. There's also a multi storey car park right next to the market for those who don't mind paying. There are also several disabled bays on Rockingham Gate, which isn't far away on the opposite side of the Moor. maggidee
what you tend to find is badge holders go 2 hours early to get a space so then they parked a lot longer than normal, all the spaces have gone behind the Hallamshire at the back entrance ,a accident waiting to happen every day lorries just back out nobody on the road guiding traffic ,I nearly got crushed in my car if I hadn't blasted my horn the lorry driver came out at such a speed. the northern gen is the best place for parking .Hallamshire shocking
hilp4
Hi, does anyone know the rules for blue badge holders to park in the open air council car parks behind West St that go down to the old Grosvenor Hotel site. I know most of the rules, but this one foxes me.
Baron99
Saw a pensioner with a Blue Badge car on Saturday drive up Norfolk Row, round on to Fargate & park right outside Santander Bank. I thought that was pushing things a bit? Presumably, if he's entitled to park there, then there would be no problem parking in a council car park? hilp4
I park in the Hallamshire indoor car park very regularly, and always try to park in the disabled section. If I can’t get in there then I have to park on another floor, but I usually get a place in the former. I have never had to pay, you have to take a ticket as you enter, but then you just show your blue badge to the chap by pay machines and he lifts the barrier for you to leave the car park. Last week the car park showed as full, at 10am, and the chap at the entrance saw my blue badge, lifted a bollard and let me in. Amazing.

Never knew that, if I couldn't get parked in disabled I would always pay, the only way to get out of car park so I thought. I have also drove straight pass when seeing the full sign to spend time driving round and round, I now take a taxi, easier but expensive. Yes that was amazing, bet it wouldn't work for me.
