colly0410
Mam was born & spent her childhood in Sheffield Woodhouse & always had a Sheffield accent. When I was a kid & rushing around she'd call me a scopodittle, e.g. "stop acting like a scopodittle & sit still." I've asked on the Nottstalgia (Nottingham forum) as I live in Hucknall, Notts, & someone suggested it's a Sheffield/ South Yorkshire saying. Anyone heard it? Tigersoul
My mum used to call me a skopodittle and she calls my kids that too. I've never heard it used anywhere else and I've lived in quite a few places.
colly0410
First time I've known of its use by someone other than Mam, thanks for reply Tigersoul. She'd also call me a daft apeth when I did something daft, (happened a lot) Dad would call me a daft lad, he was from Derbyshire. I always tell people I'm half Yorkshire, half Derbyshire & half Nottinghamshire..
Chez2
Our family are from Rotherham. My mum is almost seventy years old and she calls her grand daughter a scopodiddle because she never sits still. I haven't heard anyone else say this.
