adiman83
Coming from another European country, we have completely different procedures for for taking a driving school and getting a Licence. I am curious to know what are the steps in UK for such a task, from the moment I decide to go that way to the moment when I actually have a Licence. Can anybody give me some information about this? anywebsite
EU driving licenses are valid in the UK. If you don't have a license then you'll need to apply for a provisional license, then you can drive with an instructor. You need to pass a written theory test (easy multiple choice questions), hazard perception test (computer) & then a driving test to become fully qualified. If you need to, then it goes something like this: Apply for a provisional licence; this lets you drive only when accompanied Take lessons Take the driving theory test Take the driving practical test If you pass both of them, then you get your full licence. The government department which deals with all of this is the DVLA, and they have a very helpful website. First thing is to find out whether the licence from your home country is valid for you to use in the UK: https://www.gov.uk/non-gb-driving-licence and then decide what your next step is: https://www.gov.uk/browse/driving/driving-licences. Well, the thing is I don't have a licence and I thought of maybe getting one here at some point in the future.
