Jobean
I think it would be great if it was approved. I've always liked drinking round kelham island, despite beer not being my thing at all, because it's not city centre basically. Even though it's growing and developing I can't imagine it becoming saturated with the sorts of crowds I'd associate with the centre. It would be nice though, as a stereotypical 'lady' drinker, to have a bit more choice! I'd love a selection of good wine menus to chose from, rather than a 187ml bottle of whatever cracked into a glass!

It'll be the best thing that could happen if more women start going in these kind of places and more people who aren't only motivated by cask beer. It's something that really ought to change, there's money to be made. It'll be the best thing that could happen if more women start going in these kind of places and more people who aren't only motivated by cask beer. I don't really see a difference in the crowd at the Kelham Island pubs as particularly beardy or obsessed with cask beer than anywhere else in the city, people just go because they are good pubs. A visit to the Wellington pub on Shalesmoor tram stop will cause you to alter your assessment.

Is there any more news on the Wellington's takeover? When will the sad folk who live in the Wellington be forced to move out into the Community? Martin C
If the beer range in the Wellington was anywhere near as good as that in Shakespeare's then I'd happily move in there.
senwar
Well popped in last week and fair play, really enjoyed it. Love the fact you can see out of the big window all way up Shalesmoor/St Phillips from then bench seats. Will definitely be back in

taxman
Is there any more news on the Wellington's takeover? When will the sad folk who live in the Wellington be forced to move out into the Community? There was a cryptic message on the opening times board tonight. Looks like it will be shutting for refurb week beginning 11th January. No idea where the poor souls in inhabit the place will have to go..... ...are there no workhouses?...are there no prisons?......
