London University Union. Another case of union leadershipabusing power

Recommended Posts

But the union isn't banning anyone from going, they just don't want officials going in an official capacity. Any student can go if they want.

It still doesnt make sense. Whatever organisation we are talking about nobody would go to represent the organisation without instructions from the organisation itself anyway.

Its posturing and pandering to the anti war PC Zelots.

But that is exactly what we're talking about. The only people who are upset by this are people who wanted to represent ULU at the ceremonies.

I think you missed out lentil eating, sandal wearing, leftie-do-gooders from your description there.

Last year their representative used their name to promote his socialist anti-war PC views, without getting permission or informing the 120,000 other people he was representing, so this year nobody will. And yet ULU are still in the wrong. Why does a students' union need to have a representative at a remembrance ceremony anyway?

That doesn't seem to be how the press are reporting it. But there again they aren't looking to make excuses for the union either.

Lets look at the headline linked above:

University of London Union 'Bans' Student Officials From Attending Poppy Remembrance Day Service

OK, now name one person who has been banned from attending a remembrance day service.
