hotrock
Our favourite expression is to "pull up a sandbag and swing the tilly" as in all round the campfire recalling stories from our escapades within our duties around the world.
Texas
Yes I wake up every morning and wonder where I am, then it dawns on me so I go back to sleep. I'm 84 but you may not believe this but I'm building a house, on my own, by missen and I'm enjoying it no end. So all you other old codgers out there my advice is KEEP MOVING and keep off the pills. So I said to this bird, " are you game " she said yes, so I shot her. Sound advice that Da link, couldn't have put it better. We used to call telling tall stories around a pot bellied stove 'shootin' the ****'. Regarding your house building, if I lived a bit nearer Sheffield I'd have asked if there was any chance of a start.
